I wish I could give this a good review

I tried this filter system with less than expected outcome. The top leaked and the lid got stuck. I put it off to the side and do not plan to try it again. If anyone else tries this filter, I hope you have better luck than I did. Lesson learned on my part. Sorry.
ProsI haven’t experienced any.
ConsThe lid got stuck and I cannot separate it from the body. The lid also leaked.

KLR filter needed TLC
March 11, 2020
The KLR filter assy out of the box really looked like the real deal! Clean looking and well designed. Then I took it apart, installed the O-ring tightened the cover and tried blowing thru it! The cap and base would not seal! While the base is well engineered, the top is nearly not nearly of the same quality! The top appears to be a thin blow molded assembly and the threaded portion that is supposed to mate with the O-ring was very rough and uneven. It appeared someone had tried to flame smooth the plastic sealing surface using a torch, leaving a porus, sugary and rough sealing surface resulting in very shoddy looking result. I used wet or dry 400 grit paper on a glass plate, attempting to smooth the sealing surface to obtain a positive sealing surface! As the blow molded plastic top is fairly thin, I did manage to obtain a seal using Glycerin as a lubricant. I have not yet used it for Wine but I feel now it should work as advertised!
ProsLooks great out of the box, neat, clean looking well, thought out design! Small filters a good thing!
ConsNeeds more engineering for the cap area! The Cap assy. and base do not share the same engineering and machining expertise that should have been employed in the manufacturing process! The Cap needs to be made of a much heavier grade plastic and machined like the base, then it might be worth 5 stars! Even though the price is on the low side for a gravity filter, the user still should not have to fool with it in order to make it work!
