Winexpert World Vineyard Italian Nebbiolo (Barolo) Wine Kit

Medium in body with a luminous dark cherry colour Winexpert World Vineyard Nebbiolo (Barolo) has rich, spicy fruit and delivers the true character of the grape and land. Typical flavours are cherries, violets, black licorice, truffles and it finishes with rich, chewy, deep and long-lasting flavour. Burly, assertive ‘chewy’ wine, it is not for the faint of heart, but for those seeking intensity and complexity, there is nothing else like Barolo.

Sweetness: DRY | Body: MEDIUM | Oak Intensity: LIGHT

Winexpert World Vineyard Italian Nebbiolo (Barolo) Wine Making Kit
The wine was a big hit among all my friends. I followed the direction exactly as they are written. Took bottle to a wine tasting party, a travel meet-up of friends that travel the world and drink a lot of wines. I called the Nebbiolo red "Florence Nebbiolo Red" because it was bottled during Hurricane Florence. The wine competed against 6 name-brand red wines in four category's: appearance, smell, taste, and over-all. My Nebbiolo red took first place . You wont be disappointed in this wine. It is a Winner! I have to make another batch due to high demand among my friends.

Batch Number 28 and counting
This Nebbiolo was the first wine I made after my wife bought me the kit for Christmas 2015. Since then I have made 27 six-gallon batches. I have not had a single bad batch. I followed the directions by the book, and watched a wine-expert you-tube demo before starting. Demo was very helpful. I tried another brand, but find wine-expert better. I've made the Tempranillo, Sangiovese, Luna Rossa, Mezza Luna and Chilean Malbec. They are all great, but Nebbiolo is the one we like the best. It's just the right balance between a too light or too heavy body. With all my batches, I have experimented with adding a couple ounces of extra oak. I've used varying degrees of toasted oak, but have the best results with sawdust that I make myself from leftover red-oak flooring that I bought for a small repair at home. I am occasionally in Tallahassee or Asheville visiting family. Both places have wine supply stores, but their in-store prices are more than Southern HomeBrew's cost including shipping. I never had a damaged box, a leak or any problems with an order. We are very nice to our UPS guy, who politely leaves the box on a bench by our back door. I told my wife for years that I wanted to make wine (like mu Italian grandfather) when I retire. Who knew retirement could be so much fun! And, including corks, equipment and everything, it's costing between 3 and 4 dollars a bottle, for wine that tastes like it costs ten times more. We give it to our wine-appreciating friends and relatives for Christmas, always to rave reviews.
Merchant Response:Awesome review and thank you for the compliments! We're glad your enjoying your retirement making wine!!! You should call us and ask for Don and he can share a tailoring we did to the Nebbiolo to slightly sweeten's the bomb for a nice varietal like Nebiolo and Pinot Noir!!
Prossee above
ConsHeavy to lift 6 gallons at my age. I found hydraulic lift table on-line for a couple hundred dollars. Works great.
